About Revival RadioRevival Radio Ltd was incorporated in October 1995 and launched it's first broadcast in March 1996, celebrating Easter. As far as licencing regulations permit, the station broadcasts twice per year for 28 days, the maximum broadcast time permitted under the Restricted Service Licence (RSL) granted to Revival Radio. OUR VISION is to establish full time Christian broadcasting in Scotland. Following our broadcast at Easter 1997 a rally was held at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld. Click here for a report, including photographs, about this Revival Radio Listeners' Day Out held on 13th April 1997. Limitations on broadcasting during 1998 were imposed by the Radio Authority because of our application for the full-time Central Scotland regional licence.
A period of uncertainty then followed as a consequence of new full-time stations coming on air on 19th November 1999 which prompted a Radio Authority ban on RSL operations in Lanarkshire and the City of Glasgow. This very unsatisfactory situation continued in Lanarkshire until 19th November 2000 although clearance to broadcast to the City of Glasgow on 106.8 M was given, for two weeks only, from Wednesday 14th June to Tuesday 27th June 2000. Some images of this broadcast, which went out on 106.8 FM, can be found here. A return to our conventional Cumbernauld/Kilsyth base was made for a broadcast on 87.9 FM between 19th November and 16th December 2000. Refurbishment of our studios commenced in the spring of 2001 ready for Pentecost when we saw a wonderful broadcast from 20th May to 16th June 2001 on 107FM. Radio Authority regulations precluded us broadcasting in 2001 during our regular October'ish slot and, although we had a licence agreed for later that year, we elected to stand aside in favour of our sister station Caleb Radio which broadcasts from the Wishaw area. During this extended off-air period we took the opportunity to carry out further enhancements to our studios, improving the sound deadening, adding new presenters mics, a sound processor and double CD player. This opened up the opportunity for a new broadcast time slot for Revival Radio which saw the station on air, celebrating the period of Lent leading up to Easter, on 105.4FM from 24th February to 23rd March 2002. Maintaining our vision for full time Christian broadcasting in Scotland, Revival Radio continued to broadcast when licence conditions permitted and to explore broadcast possibilities. In the summer of 2005 the prayers and enterprise of all involved with Revival Radio were rewarded with thenews that the station had been awarded a 5-year Community Radio Licence. After months of planning and obtaining permissions, at the beginning of 2006 Revival Radio Ltd set about constructing a purpose-built broadcasting facility within an industrialunit in Cumbernauld. Test transmissions for the new Revival FM commenced in August 2006 with some associated trial broadcasting online. At the beginning of September 2006 Revival FM launched on 100.8 FM, becoming the first full time Christian radio station to broadcast from Scotland and the first Christian radio station in Scotland to be available on conventional terrestrial radio frequencies.
