13 April
1997 at Broadwood Stadium, Cumbernauld, Scotland At one of the
largest outdoor gatherings of Christians in Scotland since the
Billy Graham campaign in 1991, Revival Radio listeners gave thanks
for Christian radio. Over 1,000 people rejoiced at a football
stadium in Cumbernauld, Central Scotland as Rev. Bill Stirling
shared his vision for Christian radio.
Bill, Managing Director of Revival Radio Ltd., a charitable organisation,
led the people in praise and worship assisted by singer Kirsty
Goldstone. Revival Radio favourites taking part included the singing
group, Gospel Heirs, folk singer Alastair McDonald and musician
Colin Smith. Rev. Jim Martin of Kilsyth brought the bible message
after which a number of people responded to the appeal for commitment
to Christ. As well as adults, a number of children and teenagers
responded.
The audience was invited to sign a petition for full-time Christian
radio in Central Scotland to which almost everybody responded.
The Revival Radio team were most encouraged by the support shown
and request further prayer for the forthcoming licence application
to be successful. During the Easter 1997 broadcast, several people
made a commitment to Christ for the first time, a number of people
had their Christian zeal rekindled and many believers were blessed
throughout the 4 weeks of programmes.
