The STATION
POLICY of Revival Radio is to produce programmes which are friendly
in tone and which are built securely on professional principles. We believe
that only the very best is good enough for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus
Christ. To assist with this high calling, we have developed a number of
policy guidelines which we request all those directly involved in broadcasting
to observe. Some selected examples are listed.
Listeners
The aim of all programmes will be to enlighten, inform, entertain and
edify all our listeners in order to encourage them to reflect upon the
teaching and ways of Jesus Christ. This is achieved through talk programmes
based on scriptural truths applied to daily life along with music programmes
of a wide variety which convey the truths of the scriptures in a light
and friendly way. Attitudes are considered to be extremely important and
all participants are encouraged to make every effort to project a kindly,
loving and understanding attitude at all times.
Denominations
No Christian denomination is elevated above any other and none are derided,
scorned or ridiculed. At all times, a balanced Christian view is expressed
although differences of denomination emphasis may be highlighted albeit
in a spirit of mutual respect based on the love and understanding exemplified
by Jesus Christ.
Programme
Content: Music associated with musicians or singers who have espoused
anti-Christian sentiments or views without revocation will not be played.
No music whose lyrics are at variance with Christian beliefs or ethics
will be played. Comments will not emphasise any sensationalism associated
with music, musicians or other guests. Most music chosen will be in the
range from light to middle of the road.
In-jokes
are not permitted and Christian jargon, if used, will
be clarified for the benefit of those who do not embrace such jargon.
Parochial comments will be avoided as will any reference
to personal friends or family of presenters. Criticism
of any sort of presenters, guests or any other staff is not permitted.
Off the cuff remarks, especially to fill air time, will be discouraged
since the policy of Revival Radio is to make maximum use of scripts during
broadcasts.
Contact
with Listeners
Revival Radio is governed by the licence conditions which exclude unsolicited
contact with any listeners after a broadcast. No listeners who contact
the station will receive requests for money or any other form of commitment.
The primary vehicle for communication with listeners is through the 106
CLUB.
Advice
to Listeners
Revival Radio will not give advice or guidance of a personal, individual
nature on air. Dissemination of information relating to events, issues,
activities or sources of help will be of a general nature with the intention
that the individual listener will decide on its applicability on a personal
level. Notices and announcements on air will require the prior approval
of the Revival Radio management.
